The Coalition for a Tobacco-Free Arkansas (“CTFA” or “Coalition”) has created this privacy statement to demonstrate our firm commitment to protecting the privacy of visitors to our website. The contents of the CTFA website are provided as general information only, and are not intended as medical advice. The Coalition makes no warranty, either expressed or implied, regarding the completeness, accuracy, or currency of this information nor its suitability for any particular purpose.

Our site contains links to other sites created and controlled by other organizations. These links are provided for your convenience and are not intended as CTFA’s endorsement of the organizations operating these sites, nor as a warranty of the information their site contains. The Coalition is not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of these other websites.

By accessing the information on this website, you agree that the Coalition shall not be liable to you for any loss or injury caused in procuring, compiling, or delivering the information. In no event will the Coalition or the contributors of information to this site be liable to you or anyone else for any action taken by you in reliance on such information or for any consequential, special, or similar damages.

Registration & Cookies
Visitors can access most sections of this website without registering or providing any personal information. For those visitors who register or otherwise provide us with personal information, we will not provide any personal contact information to any other organization or individual without the visitor’s expressed consent. Our registration form on the main site requires those visitors who register to give us contact information (such as name and email address) and demographic information (such as zip code, age, or occupation). The contact information is used to contact the visitor when necessary or as requested. Users may opt in or out of receiving future communications (for more detail, see the choice/opt-out section below). Demographic and profile data are also collected at our main site. We use this information to guide our general efforts to supplement, revise, and otherwise improve the content of this website to better address visitors’ concerns and interests. In some cases, we may also use this data to tailor visitors’ experiences at our site, show them content in which we think they might be interested, and display the content according to their preferences.

The Coalition may sometimes use visitors’ Internet Provider (IP) addresses to help diagnose problems with our server, and we use them, as necessary, to administer our website. CTFA sometimes use cookies (an electronic placeholder on visitors’ personal computers) to enable us to send registered visitors’ information and other content specific to their expressed interests; and we use cookies, in some situations, to save a visitor’s personal password so the visitor does not have to re-enter it each time the password-required sections of the website are visited. We offer visitors the choice to have us save their passwords. Visitors can accept or reject any cookies from our website by taking advantage of the related settings and tools on their own computers.

Security
This site has security measures in place to protect against the loss, misuse, or alteration of the visitor information under our control. The site does not contain content that would be inappropriate for children. The Coalition’s mission is to help protect kids from tobacco; thus we are equally committed to making children’s on-line experience with us as safe, constructive, and enjoyable as possible. Per the privacy guidelines of the U.S. Federal Trade Commission, we do not collect online contact information from children under the age of thirteen without taking steps to provide prior parental notification or obtain prior parental consent (in which we offer an opportunity for parents to prevent use of their children’s information or stop their participation in the activity.) Unless we receive a communication providing prior parental consent, online information will be used only to respond directly to the child’s request and not for other purposes.

Unfortunately, given technological and resource limitations, it may be possible for some children under thirteen to evade our efforts to notify parents or obtain prior parental consent – especially if their parents do not supervise or monitor their Internet use at home.

If you send an e-mail message to the Coalition or complete a questionnaire, form, or other online survey found on the CTFA website, CTFA will maintain the information in accordance with applicable federal law. The Coalition does not disclose, give, sell, or transfer any personal information about CTFA website visitors unless required for law enforcement or otherwise required by law. For site security purposes and to ensure that this service remains available to all users, CTFA employs software programs to identify unauthorized attempts to upload or change information, or otherwise cause damage.
